Global Warming Vs Real Environmental and Humanitarian Problems December 20, 2009

I recently started uploading videos to youtube. I think it is cool!
I have seen how politicians are pushing for more control and more taxes using “global warming” or “climate change” as an excuse. First, the climate on the Earth is always changing and this is something natural. Second, the science behind the “global warming” is very weak…Do your research.
In my opinion there are other environmental problems that are real now and should be addressed immediately, like water and air pollution at the local level, overfishing…etc. On the other hand, there are still millions of people who die every year for lack of food or potable water. The developed nations have the technology and resources to fix most of those problems and the “Copenhagen Summit” should be about that not about a potential climate threat of the future based on fraudulent science.

7 Reasons Why Martial Arts Are Awesome November 27, 2009

My wife Jessica tends to think that people who practice karate, judo…etc., ain’t cool. I guess all she can remember is that memorable scene of Napoleon Dynamite in which his brother Kip does the “back-kick” in his 4-hour karate seminar. I laughed so hard. But the truth is that cool or not, I love martial arts. I first started with judo when I was only six-year-old, later I did Kung Fu and in my twenties (more…)
Where The Wild Things Are—Travel Tips For A Costa Rica Trip November 16, 2009

The first time I thought about visiting Costa Rica was when I was offered a scholarship after college to study turtles over there. That sounded great! But somehow it was scary…I mean, I needed to cross the Atlantic ocean for that! So I preferred to stay in Europe and spent few months in another cool place: Denmark (which deserves another post altogether).
Costa Rica is one of the most (more…)

I normally take some time to think about what I am going to write on the blog. Not tonight. For a strange reason, I have developed a “need” to communicate, to sit down and just share my thoughts on this blog. It makes me feel good, like I am somehow contributing to something important. Instead of just letting another day go by and keep my inner world for myself, or those really close to me….Now I like to open up. So here I am today.
At the time of this post, I have no (more…)

I grew up in a middle-class family. We had our issues but our parents made a great effort to keep us from worrying about money. Thanks goodness!
Then, one day, I became a teenager, a very idealistic one…and I thought that “money was the root of all evil”. No doubt about it! I despised money and, of course, rich people. I devoted a lot (a lot) of hours to volunteering and things like that. And after few years and a college degree, I was ready to rock the world. I had no money and no job but my accumulated positive karma would (more…)
The Hero Within October 16, 2009

The story on this video really touched me. I do not know if those dogs were friends, or if they had not seen each other ever before. But it is a truly amazing scene to watch. Somehow, it reaches home…
First, really sad that the dog in the beginning gets hit. It breaks my hearth that there are some many thousands of strayed dogs (and other animals) in our cities; not the best place to wander around. I happen to have a dog and I know how happy they are with just a safe and environmentally clean place to run around and play. Well-trained dogs can be such good pets for a family!
The hero in our story, the second dog… (more…)
Do You Have an Ultra Mind? October 9, 2009

Would you believe me if I said to you that you can have an Ultra Mind? Most of us have heard about studies that revealed that we only use 10% of our mental capacity and things like that. It all sounds intriguing but not very real. But what if there was some true to all this…
Perhaps we all are like that elephant that is tied to a little rope, not knowing that he is so powerful and strong that could break free at any moment. Has our educational system and our traditions taught us how to fully utilize our own minds? Or, on the contrary, are we repeating the same mistakes and passing them from generation to generation? It seems to me that yes, we do have incredible and untapped abilities, but somehow (more…)

In his great book “The Art of Loving“, Erich Fromm talks about how we can not be really happy until we learn to be comfortable being alone with ourselves.
When was the last time that you sit by a tree just to do nothing? No worries, no errands to run, no tight schedule…just sitting down, and being there. I will tell ya, those short moments are so precious for me. Our minds are so used to consume, and consume, and consume. Why do you think that people do crosswords? They can’t let it go!
But we need those quite moments like air, in order to get in touch with ourselves, to truly put things into perspective.
I remember, when I was a child, I spent more time in that state. I felt calm and safe. But as we grow up, we all learn the (more…)
